The Adventure Survival issue captured the moment when Kelly Slater at almost age 50, won the Pipe Masters in Hawaii. He has survived and continued to dominate in a sport dominated by youth. The moment, this image of sheer ecstasy of winning at Hawaii's Pipeline showed so clearly what it meant to him to keep on winning even after 11 world titles.
